The Rowan Guest House Group was established with a simple aim: to provide comfortable, affordable accommodation in the heart of Inverness, run by people who care about their guests. Over the years, we’ve welcomed travellers from across the world including families on holiday, solo backpackers, business visitors, wedding guests, walkers, cyclists and those beginning or ending a journey around the Highlands. Many of them return time and again, which is one of the greatest compliments we could receive.

Ardross & Glencairn itself occupies three charming Victorian townhouses on Ardross Street. Their traditional stone façades and high ceilings retain the character of these unique Inverness heritage properties, while the rooms inside are continually maintained and updated to ensure modern comfort.

Though the building holds history, our approach to hospitality is very much present-day — efficient, friendly and guest-focused.

We like to keep things simple: clean rooms, comfortable beds, helpful service and a location that makes it easy to enjoy Inverness. Our team works hard to ensure each room is carefully prepared and that guests feel looked after from the moment they arrive.

To keep our costs affordable, there are some things you won’t find in our rooms, such as washcloths and extra toiletries, but our proximity to nearby shops and supermarkets means that you should be able to find whatever you need nearby.

Being a small, independent group means we can provide a personal touch. When you call or email, you’re speaking to a real person based right here in Inverness, often the same people who will greet you at check-in. We’re always happy to help with restaurant suggestions, walking routes, local history or transport advice. If something isn’t quite right, we’ll do our best to resolve it promptly.
